Connection to place is an intrinsic part of our nature. Using 35mm film and blind double exposures to explore and document this connection, I shot through each roll twice - exposing first with the architecture, landmarks and nature of the neighborhood and exposing a second time with the people of the community.
These images were all taken in North End, one of seventeen neighborhoods in Hamilton, Ohio, as part of We>Me: 17 Artists Explore Hamilton Neighborhoods. The exhibit is part of the 2024 FotoFocus Biennial: backstories and seven of these works will be on display at the Fitton Center for Creative Arts in Hamilton from October 19, 2024 - January 3, 2025.
